Branch Halloween

Caleb won best costume at the branch party. He and Owen were matchers! Plenty of costume, candy and Halloween fun for me. We will be shutting off the lights and hibernating Friday night!

State Park circuit

We are hitting the State Park circuit this week. Lovely colors on Wednesday at storytime and hike at Rogers. Friday Chittenango Falls and today at Delta Lake.

Delta Lake

Bishop Bloss volunteered to take Scott and the boys on a fishing trip. It turned into a family outing. But we don't all fit in the boat. I went out with the younger ones and left Scott and Caleb onshore. Nobody wanted to stay with me for the final trip. I watched them zoom away, and I'm enjoying the leaves and crickets of fall.

Landscaping

This is only a small taste of what's been torn up on Chenango Ave. More than a dozen pine trees from the property line. A ton of digging and grading!

This is all in preparation for pouring concrete in the garage in the spring. One step at a time!

Chittenango Falls

We met the Wards and hiked down into the gorge. The weather was cooperative, and the kids enjoyed being together.

Beach party, cont.

At Millbrook the kids took turns getting buried in the sand. Isaac remained calm and still while Lyd and Caleb covered all but his head and face. Tyler insisted he bury himself alone.

Devotionals

Family Home Evening and morning scriptures. Also standing in line for mealtime orders.

Chickens

Well, seeing how the chickens works around here makes me feel a little more ready to make it work in our family. Maybe next year there will be chickens in Sherburne.

Corn

We teamed up with grandma and grandpa to freeze... a lot... of corn. Everyone worked together to shuck the corn. Then we boiled it (josh helped with that) and Scott, Grandma and I worked at cutting it off and bagging it for freezing. It was a very productive Saturday morning.

Everyone watched as Scott drifted propane to another tank for boiling the corn.

Lunch with daddy

Isaac and I met Scott for lunch twice while he was working nearby. Daddy was pleased to have us, and Isaac was excited to be involved in daddy's work.

General conference

Saturday the Elders came over to work on some of the pine from last week's tree cutting adventures. They stayed to watch conference and have lunch.

It is a relief to have children old enough to listen to conference without too much distraction. We set up perler beads and coloring, and Lydia did conference bingo. It also helps to have guests to be quiet for.
