What's a visit with Sarah without Crepes? We quadroupled the batch - to the wonder of Mom and Scott. But, as much as we made, the ten of us did not have a problem eating them all!

Despite the scattered showers, Jonny and Josh spent a lot of time outside playing. They continue to "grow up" and allow us to have a little less control over their play. Everyone got along very well this weekend!

Isaac thought wearing the glasses was hilarious. Sometimes the things I use to distract him at Church turn out to be more distracting to those in the class because he's so cute!

Sarah, Mom and I sang "I Wonder When He Comes Again" a capella in Sacrament meeting. It was lovely.

We had an indoor egg hunt for the kids. Everyone had a specific color they had to find. Instead of filling the eggs I had the kids turn them in and choose from a selection of candy and treats.

Jessy and Lyd setting up a matching game. The girls spent most of their time dressing up or playing in Lyd's room. The also did their share of arguing. They are both used to being in charge, their personalities are very similar. The girls needed more intervention than the boys this time.

Saturday's Village Egg Hunt was a little wet. The Easter Bunny sat in the gazebo and handed out some eggs. When we got back in the car on the way to the second hand store Lyddie and Jessy said, That was so fun! So easily entertained.

Story Time. Miss Cathy was not able to be there this week so she asked if I would lead story time. We played pest in the nest with puppets that hatch out of eggs.

We read a silly book about an egg that didn't wait until it was hatched to learn to fly. The kids were very focused. We made paper helicopters and had a little egg hunt in the children's room.

Lyd and Jess were very active during our songs. If only Jessy were here every week to help inspire the group!

Even a seasoned baker can have mishaps. I thought with my family coming for the weekend I would do 4 loaves instead of the usual 2. It got away from me, as you can see. I salvaged it and we had 4 loaves, but it's back to basics for me next time!

Happy Birthday to Isaac. He was definitely unsure at first, but then got into picking off the frosting. Sarah helped by breaking the cupcake into small pieces like he's used to having his bread. He didn't finish the whole thing.

Isaac is joined by Daddy, Jonny, Lyddie, Jessy, Caleb, Josh, Mommy, Sarah and Grandma Camilla for his first cake. We tried to do it the night before with Grandma and Grandpa from the farm too, but Isaac was ready for bed before they arrived. Happy Number One, Isaac!

The jaw together chomp around the spoon is what I was trying to capture taking the tray off in this picture. He has begun to "help" me take the tray off, and he does this lips together grin that I remember Lydia doing. Instead, the photo shows off his two top teeth!

Spring is slowly arriving. We are spending our nice days outside in the sandbox, on the swingset and picking gravel off the yard from the snowblower. Some days have been pretty rainy so we're getting muddy, too.


I set Isaac down on the grass, and he won't move. He watches me picking gravel and carefully touches blades of grass, but he won't crawl to me. Funny baby. At least I don't have to chase him around - for a few days, anyway, until he figures out the grass is safe.

Grandpa got a new spreader, and Daddy was taking advantage of it.

He "enjoyed" scooping through the manure pile, finding all kinds of things that had been pushed into it over the last little while - a chain, bale wrap plastic and various other finds. What a nasty job. When I stepped out of the kids' room, trying to get them to bed, I knew that Scott had arrived. I could smell him! Although it was 8pm we were soon all gathered in the hall telling Daddy about our day. The kids had a lot to say since they'd seen him 12 hours before.

A trip to the Syracuse Zoo. We were joined by Vinny, Rebekah, Sarah and Nancy Taylor, in addition to Benjamin and Diane. Things didn't go exactly as planned. We thought we would be going to the Science Museum on Monday, spending the night at Diane's and attending the zoo Tuesday. It wasn't until 15 min. before departure that Nancy looked at the interenet and learned that the museum is closed Mondays and Tuesdays! Oh, brother. I had already arranged to have Dad's pick up truck so I could transport a bunch of stuff from Diane's to the farm, and I had meetings the other nights in the week, so these were our two days.
We made the most of our plans by going to the zoo Monday. As always, we loved the penguins.

The Taylors hung out with us at Diane's a little while after the zoo. On Tuesday we stayed at Diane's, jumped on the trampoline, had an egg hunt and a little campfire in the middle of the day (the best time of day when it comes to kids.)

Check out this hairdo! Yep, I cut off a lot of my hair. I even went back the day after I had it done to have her take off more length in the back. And here we are with our final trip in the infant seat and stroller. They will be retired after this trip and he will ride rear facing in the car with a convertible seat. Unfortunately it's into an umbrella stroller with him on the average runaround trip. It's annoying to bring out a jogger on a regular basis unless it's straight from home on a walk.

We had an impromptu Family Home Evening with Diane and Joseph. Everyone gathered around while Joseph read from the Book of Mormon Reader. Then Diane made cute little s'more crispy treats in plastic eggs. Thanks for the great overnighter, Diane!

7 pm one night this week we were kneeling for family prayer, and I happened to look out the window and saw this amazing sight. I disrupted the wind-down to go out and take a picture, and of course was followed by the brood. We saw it just in time because it was gone in just a few minutes.

The kids helped with the weekly bread baking by scooping wheat from the big pail into my kitchen container. Isaac was happy to join the party. This little baby eats at least two slices of wheat bread each day. It's definitely a staple in our house.
