Lyd and Isaac asked to sleep in the purple tent tonight. Josh didn't want to be left out so we set up the grey tent. Lyd wanted the fairy tent. Caleb wanted his bed, but josh convinced him to join. Didn't last. Caleb is asleep in his bed now. Isaac went back and forth to his bed, but is asleep in his tent now. Fun little adventure!

Soccer
First day of soccer summer 2014. Glad we are all Monday/Wednesday participants so we don't have to go 4 nights a week. Caleb as assistant coach for a 5/6 year old team. Lyd and josh playing and Isaac hanging with me on the sidelines. Off to a good start- except I forgot water bottles on this 85 degree day!
Rogers camp
Josh's first day at Rogers Camp. He looked like he was having fun, and he's excited to go back tomorrow. It's stinkin' hot outside. Tomorrow they plan to catch some crayfish- cool off in the water.
A mouse!
Caleb caught a mouse while mowing the lawn today. Now, it's common for the boys to halt progress to catch a frog, but a mouse? Eek! Caleb left the bucket near the telephone pole to wait and show josh after camp, but he got away somehow. Yes, it was cute to see, but don't touch it and keep it away from my house!
Morning run!
New shoes for these three. I told them if the weather was dry when they woke up they could wear them for a run. Caleb took a while to be ready so josh and lyd went up and down the road right near our house. Lyd got a cramp in her leg, and josh teased her (which is one of his favorite things lately) and she came inside, but not for long. Caleb drilled her with the stop watch after that. Then Caleb did a couple mile run on his own. Hard workin kids.
This land was made...
Grandma Camilla gave me this book for my birthday. I have read it with Lyd and Isaac twice for bedtime. This morning they sang/read it together, and didn't want my help. We video chatted with grandma so she could see how much they loved it.
Kickball
Lydia was the winner with the most runs. I like to play where everyone fields and takes turns kicking. You keep a personal score of runs and outs. That way we can play with just our family and still keep things moving along.
Once Scott was worn out he took the the porch and phone.

6/28
Josh gets Andrew started mowing the ditch. Then they take turns with Connor on the rest of the lawn.
Lydia teaches the cat to walk. Her name is Roxanne, but the small children think it's Rock Sand.

It's the Home Teachers
Caleb and Daddy looked like twins arriving home from a home teaching appointment.
After church we had a kitchen picnic waiting for Diane to pick up Connor and Andrew.
Yesterday daddy took lyd and Isaac for a tractor ride. Lyd didn't want to be in the pic.

Swim with cousins
Diane was at the farm today. After Caleb, grandma and I returned from Oneonta we had time to swim together at Paddleford. It's fun to have friends to play with. Lyd enjoyed her time with Lily- she's been languishing over not having a sister.
Study
Our daily family study has dwindled this past month with our crazy schedule!
There are times, though, when the children revert to the old habits. Look at these beautiful boys sharing the Friend Magazine first thing in the morning.

Caleb's new look!
Finally got his first pair of glasses. It will take some getting used to, but he's glad to end the waiting!

Last day of school!
Finally, we have arrived! This whole week was half days, and we have been treating it like the beginning of summer. Going to the pool every day, staying up late... A lot of kickball and other ball games happening in the front yard!
A gloomy and rainy day kept folks away from the pool. At one point the boys were the only ones there.
Isaac had enough and took a nap. Around 2:45 it got quiet, and I went looking for him. Found him asleep on his bed. Of course, that meant he was up until 10pm, though!
Then later during heavy rain the kids put their suits back on and played kickball in the rain.

Summer begins!
Our first day at the pool! I dipped my toes into the baby pool and pulled them out immediately! It was freezing. Isaac stick it out splashing around for 20 minutes, even after the other kids got out to lie in the sun!
Kid fishing day
We attended kid fishing day at Rogers. No Larchars caught anything, but Isaac helped release a big fish that freaked out the child that caught it. We enjoyed the freedom of each child holding their own pole.
Josh entered a raffle and won a free week of day camp at Rogers. That's cool!
