First day at home

Coming Home!
Hospital shots of this new little guy. He actually looks chubby to me here. From 6lb, 1oz to 6lb, 5oz at discharge, he's still just a little peanut!

Friday morning everyone came to bring Mom and Baby home. They were very interested in the workings of the hospital tray table.
Now we change baby to get ready to go. "Chinese poop," Joshua says when he sees what's inside Isaac's diaper. Joshua was also interested in all the things we got to take home from the hospital, like the extra diapers and the pacifier. The kids also had me collect extras from my meals like straws and salt and non-dairy creamer servings. They went through the spoils as soon as we got home.
Here the siblings come to visit the new baby!
Lydia loved him right away. She wanted to take this baby home to her house. She found a stool so she could stand right next to the crib and patted his back and spoke to him. It was very cute!
All three were interested in his tininess. Caleb showed his maturity by also being concerned with me - how I was doing, how I liked the food and being at the hospital.

This little newborn face! Gotta love it.
Here he is! Although he didn't have a name until Thursday, Isaac James arrived at 1am Wednesday morning.
He was 6 pounds, 1 ounce and 20 1/4 inches long.
Here you see his cheesey forhead, right after delivery.
About an hour after delivery they came in to diaper him and do his stuff.
Looking a little cleaner.
So, here's our tiny boy. I will add more pictures soon - also shots of the other kids' interactions. I have a favor to ask - I have collected newspapers from the dates (and/or weeks) of the other kids' births. Could you all save newspapers from your areas to add to my collection? Thanks.
This is the day! Here I wait for Scott to get ready. His mom is already here and half-way done with the dishes.
Caleb is so excited, he gets on the phone to spread the news. He knows me well. Who does he call? Sarah!
So, I had planned to take the kids to the farm today for a few days with Grandma during spring break. Good planning, only altered by the fact that we didn't have much choice this day - I'd be spending these days in the hospital.
Here we wait. My water broke at 6am. I checked into the hospital shortly before 9am. They started an IV antibiotic for Group B Strep - and then we wait.
We walked the halls for a while to move things along, and here Scott captures me "dancing" to get labor going.
Mornings when the weather is good Scott goes for a walk. This was a Saturday - or maybe a day off school. Josh asked to go, then Lyd, then they all ended up joining Daddy for his walk.
They are still smiling at the end of the walk!
Lydia is ready for... something!
Joshua and Lydia were playing Prince and Princess. They were pretty funny!

Here, Mom is getting closer to the end of pregnancy!

Lydia loves her swing, although she prefers Daddy as the pusher.
Already driving a tractor
Lydia looks ready to go out to the garden. Incidentally, this is a doll that I had as a child - I was quite a bit older than Lydia when I got it - because I had to save money to buy it for myself. Nice that she enjoys it, too.
